just back from 2 weeks in the Carribean sunshine and it cold grey edinburgh, lovely............was at the PGA show before going and it was great to see the show so vibrant, got lots of ideas from stuff that we saw.

Well the festive season is over, my liver may never recover, Anne and I went to the Edinburgh Princes Street party for the first time this year and it was absolutely excellent fun, great atmosphere, everybody well behaved, very drunk but well behaved, can't believe I am born and bred here and that's the first time I've been. Here in Edinburgh we were battered by gales and the office roof is needing some urgent repairs. I'm looking forward now to Orlando and the PGA Show for some much needed sunshine.

Please can we start talking the coming year up rather than the constant doom and gloom, some positive thinking can go a long way. 2012 is gonna be a great year and I hope you all will ensure that it is, health wealth and hapiness to you all.

Did you know that according to Met Office records over 30 years we have at least 1mm of rain on 154 days each year. Did you also know that during those days the average temperature is 9 degrees. Now here's my point.....wait for it......did you know that according to Leeds University research the best possible technology for breathable waterproof fabrics in those conditions is what we use in Bruce Clark's award winning rainwear..........ok so I'm an anorak.........see that.....I made a joke :-).......a funny anorak !!

I'm off to Harrogate for the golf show later today, Annie coming with me as it's her birthday tomorrow...thats where Bruce Clark comes from for those who don't know, Annie's (my wife) maiden surname is Bruce, mine is Clark...hence.......can't believe how its so flooded in the west and so dry in the east, this should be rainwear weather all over the country.

I am delighted to be in both the main trade magazines again this month, the brand continues to grow and this exposure definitely helps.......Bruce Clark was one of the top 3 golf rainwear brands in Europe and only the second ever to get a Gore-Tex fabric license for golf.

here's a photo of David Beckham on his wedding day wearing a Bruce Clark top, see the logo on the sleeve, he and Gary Neville bought these in the pro-shop at Luttrelstown Castle, these pictures were in every national newspaper that day......more later

Another one from the Bruce Clark archives, the first short sleeved rainsuit, ever !!! designed and made by Bruce Clark for Nick Faldo, he wore this during the Ryder Cup in Valderrama 1997 and for years after, way before Lanny Wadkins cut the sleeves off his rain jacket. We made Nick's rainwear for many years and he is the most exacting professional which its been my privilege to work with.

reminded on friday by finding the press cuttings of the morning David Beckham married Posh Spice, that he and his best man, Gary Neville both bought and wore Bruce Clark tops when they played golf before the wedding, and no Victoria Beckham did not caddie for them :-)
